Think about the most magnetic, attractive and alluring person you have know. Was it their smile, voice or something else? I bet it is was their confidence!
As a life coach for entrepreneurs, I want you you to be successful in all areas of your life. In this article, we will discuss five (5) tips to unwavering confidence that attract awesome opportunities and people that will improve not just your business, but positively impact all areas of your life.
Tip One: Enhance your self-care routine
Self-care is a vital component of a healthy and fulfilling life. Self-esteem and self-care are intrinsically linked. Research has shown that taking the time to care for yourself can have a range of benefits, including boosting self-esteem, confidence, and overall happiness.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration defines the following areas to improve ones self-care routine:
- Emotional (ability to understand and respond appropriately to ones inner environment)
- Environmental (ability to understand and respond appropriately to ones external environment)
- Financial (manage personal as well as business funds)
- Intellectual (cognitive ability to interpret and respond to new and challenging information)
- Occupational (ability to perform work tasks with little to no assistance)
- Physical (ability to perform daily activities of living such as personal grooming, eating or ability to perform their basic work tasks)
- Social (communication with others)
- Spiritual (a connection with God, Mother Earth, Higher Power or the Universe)
By prioritizing your own needs and dedicating time to nurturing your body and mind, you are equipping yourself with the tools necessary to face life’s challenges and to achieve your goals.
What does self care look like?
Self-care routines are actions that help you maintain balance and resilience in your life. These routines can take many forms, here are some ideas:
- Improve your sleep hygiene
- Eating healthy and high-quality food choices
- Engaging in regular exercise
- Participating in hobbies or activities
- Volunteering for a cause that is important to you
- Attending religious events regularly
- Spending time in nature
Choose activities that are pleasant and makes sense for you. For example, if you do not like nature, don’t plan a two-week trip hiking around the Yosemite National Park. Find something that is easy, accessible and fun to do.
Ultimately, practicing self-care is a powerful act of self-love and self-compassion, as it acknowledges that you deserve to be healthy, happy, and fulfilled.
Remember to make self-care a daily priority and to celebrate the positive changes it brings to your life.
Tip Two: Challenge negative self-talk
Challenging negative self-talk may seem daunting, but it is a crucial step towards building and sustaining confidence and healthy self-esteem.
Our thoughts have a powerful impact on the way we feel and behave, and many of us tend to have an inner monologue that is harsh and self-critical. This can create a vicious cycle of negativity that can be difficult to break free from.
How to speak positively
We can replace our negative thoughts with positive affirmations. This helps to shift our perspective and cultivate a more optimistic outlook on life.
Not only does affirmations help us to feel better about ourselves, but it can also lead to improved relationships, greater success in our personal and professional lives, and an overall increase in our sense of well-being.
Here are some affirmations:
- I am worthy
- I am love-able
- Good things happen to me
- Nothing is beyond my power
- I can do this
- There is a solution
- I will grow from this
So, start focusing on your strengths and accomplishments and give yourself the credit you deserve for your successes.
Recite your affirmations as many times as you need to. Remember, you are capable, worthy, and deserving of love and happiness!
Tip Three: Create a life plan rather setting goals
Setting goals may seem like a good idea, but often goals can be hard to meet due to constantly changing circumstances and priorities. That’s when creating a Life Plan using the Objective and Key Results, or OKR, method can help.
The OKR method has been proven effective by multinational corporations like Google, Asana, Accenture, Amazon, Netflix, and many more. By using this streamlined approach, you’ll be able to focus on the most important things that truly matter and accomplish your goals with ease.
The OKR method consists of three parts: the Objective, Key Results, and Initiatives.
- The Objective answers the question, “What do I want to achieve or obtain?”
- The Key Results showcase that “I am headed in the right direction. Here is the proof.”
- Lastly, the Initiatives lay out what you need to do to get things moving in the right direction.
Create an OKR for your personal life
For example, if you want to improve your overall physical health by improving your sleep hygiene, an OKR would look like this:
Objective: Sleep at least 7-8 hours each night.
Key result: Wake up feeling refreshed.
Initiatives: Stop working at least three hours before bedtime, disconnect from smartphones and communication devices, practice mindfulness routines like breath work, journaling, or meditation.
By following these simple steps in an OKR, you’ll be well on your way to achieving your goals and improving your quality of life.

Tip Four: Practice self-compassion:
Living in a rapidly changing world comes with several challenges, which may lead us to become overly self-critical and even critical of others. Therefore, we must adopt self-compassion and kindness as important virtues.
Our daily self-talk is a significant aspect of our mental health and affects our overall self-esteem. How we treat ourselves matters, and we must treat ourselves like the valuable people we are.
We should not be too hard on ourselves when we fall short of our expectations but, instead, view our mistakes as opportunities to learn and better ourselves.
Self-care is not selfish. By supporting ourselves, we can be there to fully present to support others.

Tip Five: Seek Support
In addition to practicing self-compassion, having a supportive network of people around us can make a huge difference in our lives. Friends, family members, and, if necessary, an experienced life coach like myself can provide guidance, encouragement, hope, and inspiration.
Remember, there’s no shame in reaching out for help when we need it. We all need support from time to time, and such support is invaluable.
Final Thoughts on Self-Esteem
Building confidence and self-esteem takes time and effort. Consistent practice of healthy habits such as self-care, positive self-talk, and seeking support from others is necessary. Through gradually enhancing confidence, a happier life can be achieved.
Remember that building self-esteem is a personal journey and small steps lead to big changes. Please do not compare yourself to others.
Your life is unique, brilliant and should be lived to the fullest!
